A Bronx native is making his mark on Hollywood.

Alexander Mercier is only 23 years old, but he's already racked up quite the resume as an actor. Mercier has worked on projects for Netflix, HBO and now Warner Brothers.

"I never thought I'd make it so far. I thought i'd be a neighborhood kid or something," says Mercier.

He says he was guided by his grandparents but his big break came from his work in the Netflix series “The Get Down.”

Mercier will now be starring in the new Joker film in October alongside Joaquin Phoenix.

"I play one of the Joker's clowns. Working with Joaquin Phoenix, he's one of my favorite actors so to kind of witness and watch one of your favorite actors give one of their best performances was really good," says Mercier.

He wants others in the Bronx to know that the sky is the limit.
