A fundraiser was held Sunday to help raise money to pair more veterans with medical service dogs.
Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs are paired with veterans who need mental and emotional support. The dogs also help with serious medical conditions.
"I have post-traumatic stress disorder and I also have a heart condition, which causes me to pass out," says veteran Justin Hall. "And she alerts me 15-20 minutes before anything happens. So I usually pass out four to five times a week. I've passed out maybe three times in the last month and a half since being paired."
The Barks, Brews and BBQ fundraiser will help bring in two service dogs for veterans in need.
