Police say a shooting occurred inside the Murphy Houses early this morning.

News 12 is told the 20-year-old victim was shot inside an elevator.

Authorities were called to the scene just before 6 a.m. where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back.

He was taken to the hospital where officials say he is in stable condition.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.

Investigators say the victim is not being cooperative.
