Ribbon-cutting held for new playground at the Boston Secor Houses

Posted: Updated:

As New York City schools get back in session this week, kids at the Boston Secor Houses in Eastchester are getting a nice treat to start off the year.

After years of anticipation, the Boston Secor Houses have a revamped playground. The ribbon-cutting took place on Tuesday.

Council Member Andy King and NYCHA representatives were in attendance to make it official. The project first got underway in 2015, after King secured $700,000 for the work.

Kids quickly took to the new slides and monkey bars, soaking up the last bits of summer.

A baseball field and a basketball court behind the playground are also set to open at the end of this month.
