Grocery store manager: Kingsbridge thefts are getting out of control

Posted: Updated:

A business manager in Kingsbridge says thefts from his store are getting out of control.

Mohammed Sandoka believes the entire neighborhood should be on high alert. The Foodtown manager says he has cameras outside, but apparent thieves keep getting away with merchandise.

Sandoka says he spoke to other store owners in the area about what they can do to minimize crime.

Police say they haven't received an overwhelming report of thefts on Broadway near where the store is located. Police added that it is possible reports were not filed.

A spokesperson for a nearby Stop & Shop told News 12 they've increased security at their store.

Police encourage store owners and managers to report thefts so they can accurately access and address the issue.
