Mother continues search for 28-year-old son missing since March

Posted: Updated:

A mother is desperately trying to find her 28- year-old son who was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Salvatore Gabriello has been missing for five months.  Police say he was last seen on March 26 at 1056 Boynton Ave. where he lived with his mother, Lucia. She was out of the country on vacation at the time of his disappearance.

Lucia Gabriello has since filed a police report, hung posters and scoured the blocks of her old home. The family moved a few months ago. She’s also trying to get her hands on surveillance video from the day he went missing.

Lucia says there have been reports from neighbors that have said he was seen sleeping in a nearby building and a New York City school bus driver says she seen him a few times.

Salvatore Gabriello has a cellphone that she pays for but it has not been used and goes directly to voicemail when called.

The NYPD says the investigation into his disappearance is ongoing. They are asking anyone who may know about Salvatore’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
