A Bronx school is on display at Macy's in Manhattan, building awareness of a big project they are working on.
In a joint venture with Bulova and Windows of Hip Hop, C.S. 55 is working to raise money for their music studio program. It's a major overhaul that would include a new recording and dance studios, and gym in the basement of the existing building.
"I have no doubt that we're going to make it happen," says principal Luis Torres. "I'm a strong believer that if you believe in something, it happens."
He believes the window display at Macy's on 34th street will only help.
The display has the school's logo on one side, and a bitmoji on the other with information on how people can get involved.
Torres says eventually he hopes to change the entire theme of the school to hip-hop, something that means a great deal to him as a Bronx native.
"It shaped a lot of my thinking, it shaped the way I talk," Torres said. "It really shaped me as an individual and I saw how it positively impacted me."
