NYPD: Mott Haven man ambushed near apartment, robbed at knifepoint

Police are searching for a man who robbed a victim at knifepoint in Mott Haven.

The NYPD has released photos of the man they believe ambushed the 27-year-old victim while he was walking up the stairs of his building on Sept. 12.

Official say it happened around 5 p.m. at the victim’s building on College Avenue and 146th Street when he was approached by a man holding a knife.

News 12 is told the suspect threatened the victim with a knife, demanding his belongings. 

The young man handed over what he had. Police say the suspect got away with $600 and a cellphone. 

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
