Melville-based Henry Schein has been named as a defendant in an ongoing federal opioid lawsuit.
The company is accused of engaging in a "false advertising campaign" to expand the market for opioids, according to Newsday.
The SEC filing says the health care products maker cashed in by failing to properly monitor and restrict distribution of the painkillers.
Henry Schein denies the allegations.
