Police need the public’s help finding a man accused of stealing from Home Depot and assaulting a store employee.

According to police, the man stole $400 worth of tools in August from the Home Depot on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley.

When he was confronted by a store employee, police say the man slapped him and then took off.
