Williamsburg's first marijuana dispensary officially opened Thursday.

Remedy is the third medical marijuana dispensary in Brooklyn. It is offering patients different forms of cannabis for the purpose of providing relief.

According to the Department of Health, medical marijuana is used by more than 100,000 people in the state.

Dispensary representatives say they want to get rid of the stigma associated with marijuana.

"Medical cannabis is legal in the state of New York and we want to make sure that we're providing access in very mainstream areas. People need to know that it's OK and acceptable to use it," says Remedy spokesperson Jason Erkes.

In order to purchase from the dispensary, patients must be certified for a state approved medical condition. Some of those conditions include ALS, chronic pain and PTSD.

The dispensary is open seven days a week.
