Police: Teen charged in sex assault of Rutgers student in dorm

A 17-year-old has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a student's dorm room at Rutgers University and sexually assaulting a student who was asleep inside, police say.
The incident happened Sunday around 7:40 a.m. in Quad 2 at the Livingston Campus on Road 3 in Piscataway.
According to police, the male suspect was able to enter an unlocked dorm room and made unwanted sexual contact with the victim.
Police say when the resident woke up, the suspect immediately ran out of the room.
Students say they are going to start being more careful.
"I always locked my doors," says Valerie Montrose. "There is a culture of not locking doors here, so I'll be making sure we lock ours now. It sucks we have to be so hyper vigilant now and it's not fair to us honestly."
The suspect's name is not being released due to his age. He is charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and burglary.
Fortunately, the victim, identified only as a Rutgers student, was not physically injured during the encounter.
