Investigators: 17-year-old pedestrian fatally struck by car in Toms River

A 17-year-old from Bayville was killed Sunday while trying to cross Route 37 in Toms River.

A 17-year-old from Bayville was killed Sunday while trying to cross Route 37 in Toms River.
Investigators say the teenager was walking home around 3 a.m. when he was fatally struck by a car.
A 46-year-old man hit the pedestrian as he stepped outside the crosswalk with a no crossing signal.
The victim was dressed in dark clothing, according to witnesses.
The teenager died at the hospital.
An investigation is still underway.
