Stamford first responders thanked health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic during a a 47-vehicle procession.

Stamford police, fire and EMS came together Tuesday night at the Stamford Health campus.

Police say they entered silently on Hubbard Avenue to represent the somberness the effects of the virus has had on the community and health care workers.

As they made their way through the campus they turned on their lights and sirens as a way to say "thank you" and to show their solidarity with the hospital.

Police say their appreciation also goes out to Stamford EMS staff for their tireless efforts.

 

 

Capt. Hohn quoted JFK by saying, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest form of appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

Stamford Health officials responded by saying, "Thank you for having our backs today and every day."
