Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced some positive news on the rate of hospitalizations in the county.
As of Tuesday night, there were 2,369 COVID-19-related hospitalizations – an increase of 88 from the day before. However, as of last night 144 people were discharged.
For the third day in a row, Curran says the number of those discharged is larger than the number of new hospitalizatios.
"That is a very good sign, three days in a row. That indicates that we are approaching or are in a plateau," said Curran.
In addition, as of Tuesday, 449 patients were on ventilators – a decrease of 24 from the day before.
Curran announced that hospitals are reporting a shortage of hospital gowns, and they are in need.
Curran also says the New York Blood Center will be calling patients recovered from COVID-19 for plasma donations.
