Just weeks into the school year, some Stratford residents are complaining about school bus routes, and the paths other kids have to walk to get to class.

Last year, Stratford reorganized its school system, changing where hundreds of students go to class and how they got there.

At the time, administrators said one of the main reasons for the change was to save money on transportation. A year later, some parents say there are big problems with the transportation system.

Parents and neighbors packed the Stratford Board of Education meeting Monday night to show frustration over the issues.

Some talked of their middle schoolers having to walk multiple miles, while one person brought a photo showing a stop that is prone to flooding.

Stratford Superintendent Dr. Janet M. Robinson was surprised by Monday's outpouring, saying, "Our people have been trying very diligently to listen to people, return their calls, look at the maps to see what is available."
