Throgs Neck Bridge reopens to truck traffic

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has cleared the way Saturday for trucks to go over the Throgs Neck Bridge for the first time since July 10.
MTA officials say they are expecting traffic to be heavy on the bridge, which has remained partially closed after being damaged in a construction fire.
The northbound ramp on the Throgs Neck Bridge is expected to reopen by August 10. However, repairs will continue into the fall, officials say.
