THE BRONX - Two traffic lights at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard, with black louvers over the green lights, are causing drivers to speak up.
Drivers say it is hard to see when the light changes, and that they have to get underneath the light to see what color it is, which can be dangerous.
One driver told News 12 The Bronx that the louvers make crossing the street difficult, too.

The Department of Transportation says the louvers allow the signal to be visible only to traffic in the lanes for which the signal is intended, so that drivers approaching the intersection will not be distracted by other signals. They're also designed to prevent people from stopping short.
