Description:

A historical survey of the New York City Transit System housed in an authentic 1930s IND subway station. The museum offers artifacts from yesteryear including vintage subway cars, antique turnstiles, and much more.

Note: The Brooklyn location of the Transit Museum is currently closed for renovations and will reopen sometime in 2003. While the Brooklyn facility is closed, exhibits and programs are offered at the Gallery Annex at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, located just off the main concourse in the Shuttle Passage, adjacent to the Station Masters' Office. The annex is open Monday - Friday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on major holidays. For more information, go to www.mta.nyc.ny.us/museum
