Morris Park associations to hold fundraiser for holiday lights

MORRIS PARK - The Morris Park Community Association, Bronx Chamber of Commerce and Morris Park Alliance are holding a fundraiser to raise funds for holiday lights after money issues forced the area to scrap them for the past two years.

Officials say the lights were not put up after business owners stopped pitching in. The Morris Park Alliance says only 21 out of the 300 businesses on Morris Park Avenue made donations, making it impossible to raise the tens of thousands of dollars needed for the project.

The fundraiser will be held on Nov. 2.
