BRONX - New York Yankees' shortstop Derek Jeter will miss the team's final weekend series before the All-Star break due to a strained quad.

The Yankees' captain played his first game of the season on Thursday after breaking his ankle in last year's playoffs.

Jeter's quad tightened up in the fifth inning of the game against the Kansas City Royals.
