Firefighters respond to basement fire in Kingsbridge
2h agoA woman was killed when an apartment in East New York went up in flames Wednesday night.
The fire broke out on the first floor of the building at 407 Montauk Ave. The building housed several families. After the fire was put out, firefighters confirmed one person had died.
The super of the building told News 12 it was a woman who lived in the apartment where that fire started.
A cleaning crew pulled up to begin clearing out the debris from the fire. A vacate order was posted on the door of the building.
