As students and parents get ready to start the school year doing remote learning, many may be struggling with finding the right tools to help. 

Here's a list of 10 helpful online learning tools (that are free) to help the kids (and parents!) over the 2020-21 academic year.

1. Continuity of Learning
New York state’s Continuity of Learning website features options and examples of technology and non-technology-based materials for schools, as they develop remote learning plans.

2. Scholastic Learn at Home
The editors at Scholastic Classroom Magazines curated day-to-day projects to keep kids busy, learning, and entertained. Divided by grade level, each day's worth of activities has "four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers."

3. VT
The folks at VT curated an entire list of education companies offering their services for free during the pandemic.

4. MommyPoppins
This website is the result of local parents in different regions coming together to share their activities, events, tips, resources in one spot. In this case, they made a Coronavirus Guide for Parents, with hundreds of crafts, games, even tutoring services. Just make sure you're browsing under the right location (New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut, Westchester, and Long Island are all there!)

5. GoNoodle
This website encourages movement and mindfulness at home with videos and games created by child development experts. Yep, it's free!

6. ScaryMommy
Like MommyPoppins, ScaryMommy is a community of millenial moms sharing resources and information on all sorts of parenting levels. Here's a teacher-created guide for temporarily home-schooling your kids, with a suggested schedule you can use as you see fit (and more resources)!
