Trey Jenkins, the executive director of 161st Business Improvement District, says although they are in the early stages, the BID wants to breathe life into Lou Gehrig's Plaza with art, landscaping, and eventually concessions.
Community members we spoke with say they'd like to see more art and maintenance done to the space. Jenkins says overall he wants the plaza to be a place where the community can relax and enjoy.
He says he is working toward having an art installation by the end of July beginning of August—but he says exciting things are coming in the next year.
