A 17-year-old boy was slashed at 500 E Fordham Road on Friday morning, leaving him with cuts to his head and neck.

Officials told News 12 they received the call at 11:47 a.m.

Sources confirm a scalpel was used to attack the teenager on the second-floor staircase at Fordham Leadership Academy.

In a statement, a New York City Public Schools spokesperson told News 12, “the safety of our students is our very top priority, and this senseless act of violence is unacceptable and deeply concerning. School staff and NYPD School Safety Agents immediately responded to an incident between students today, following all protocols. We are grateful that no students were seriously hurt, and we are conducting a full investigation in partnership with the NYPD.”

The teenager was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Officials confirm two people are in custody in connection to the incident.
