Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a deadly shooting in Kingsbridge Heights that left 39-year-old Klint French dead.

Authorities say French was shot in the head outside 2525 Grand Ave. around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say 18-year-old Iyahni McIntosh was arrested shortly after midnight and is facing charges including murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. A gun was recovered at the scene, but investigators have not confirmed whether it was used in the shooting.

French’s family is mourning his death as police continue investigating.

"He wasn’t just my nephew, he was my baby. He was my world. That’s what he was, and nobody had the right to do that,” French’s relative stated.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
