2 Bridgeport teens win regional chess competition at Foxwoods Open

The competition was held at Foxwoods Casino on April 15, with 300 of some of the best young chess players in the U.S. playing against each other.

Two Bridgeport teens have won a regional chess competition.
Jithya Sajeevan,13, placed first in her category at the 14th annual Foxwoods Chess Open.
Sebastian Lopez, a seventh grader at Saint Theresa School in Trumbull who is from Bridgeport, took second place in the competition.
The competition was held at Foxwoods Casino on April 15, with 300 of some of the best young chess players in the U.S. playing against each other.
Jithya's brother, Jithu Sajeevan, is their coach and says he's proud of the DIG USA chess program that made the wins possible.
"I am very happy, and not only are they great chess players but they also coach in Bridgeport for our other kids," he said.
