Officials: 2 manhole fires spark power outage in Highbridge

More than a dozen Highbridge residents woke up to no power due to two manhole fires overnight, officials said.
By 5 a.m. Thursday, 92 customers were without power. Con Edison said two manhole fires broke out overnight at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and West 165th Street.
Citizen app video showed smoke pouring out of a manhole and into the streets of Highbridge and FDNY trucks on the scene.
The Con Edison outage map indicated that all impacted homes had power restored.
Con Edison said it was working to restore power to all homes by noon.
