2 people hurt in multi-vehicle crash on Southern State Parkway

Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County Thursday night.
The Lakeview Fire Department responded to the collision on the eastbound side of the parkway at Exit 17, which is Hempstead Avenue, in Malverne.
Upon arrival, crews encountered an overturned car on scene with one person trapped inside, fire officials say.
Two people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries via Lakeview and Northwell EMS units.
The incident involved a total of three vehicles and closed all eastbound lanes for more than two hours.
