Two Bronx subway stations are up and running once again after nearly a year of repairs.
To the relief of many commuters, the MTA has finally reopened the 6 line stops at Buhre and Zerega avenues after they were completely shut down for renovations back in July 2014.
The renewal project included the installation of new structural steel, which officials say had deteriorated beyond repair. Upgrades were made to street and platform stairs, as well as the mezzanine. New equipment was also installed to prevent birds from getting inside.
The renovations were originally expected to be completed by this past February.
