Police are questioning the mother of two young, unsupervised children found walking along a street in Crotona Park East Thursday afternoon.
The mother is being questioned at the NYPD's 41st Precinct.
The children were taken to Lincoln Medical Center after good Samaritans on Longfellow Avenue reported the incident to police.
One of the local residents who took care of the children until police arrived was Kenneth White. He says he's lived in the area for 30 years and had never seen them before.
Officials say the children were just 2 and 3 years old, and were walking barefoot.
They were released from the hospital in good health.
