A new legislative package introduced by Council Member Amanda Farias is taking the lead in educating New York City youth and breaking barriers on the conversation on menstrual health.

Farias says the four bills that were introduced not only aim to change the discussion around periods, but also expand access to menstrual cups and improve the distribution of menstrual products to incarcerated people.

Another bill aims to help improve the Department of Education's reporting on menstrual products in schools.

This comes ahead of Menstrual Hygiene Day on Sunday.
