Police are investigating a body that was found inside of a bin in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

The body was found inside of a bin by the entrance to a walking path that starts at the end of Edson Avenue. Law enforcement officials say the call for this body came in just after 12 p.m. Friday.

Neighbors say that they frequently walk the path that leads up to 241st Street, with one person saying that they noticed something off back on Wednesday.

“I kicked it, and it felt heavy. I was going to come back and open it, but I said, ‘Hell with it’,” says James Washington. “I come from work on my lunch break, and I see this cornered off… I knew it had to be something with this from the other day.”

No arrests have been made at this time.
