Bronx community members and officials host Juneteenth rally
This is the fourth annual Juneteenth rally, and Councilmember Riley says he hopes to continue this event for the kids coming up in the community

Some Bronx community members and local elected officials took part in a Juneteenth rally outside of Community Board 12 on Monday.
The crowd started out in front of the community board's building before making their way down White Plains Road over to East Gun Hill Road.
Marchers chanted "1, 2, 3, more peace" as their message, as ralliers say they are promoting unity and community on this holiday. They say they came to commemorate the day that enslaved people in Texas were informed they were free and to uplift and work together in unison with their community members.
"When you look at back in the day, when we emancipated the enslavement that happened down south, we worked together," said Councilmember Kevin Riley. "Us walking down White Plains Road today, amplifying that message together... this is one community, we have to work together, and I think that's a very important principle."
