The Garvey School in Co-op City announced during Monday's graduation ceremony that it is preparing to build a new school with the help of free funding through a special project.

Hugh Harris and Mark Stagg Group developers partnered to help the school expand and give more kids in the borough the education the school offers.

The current Garvey school on Bay Chester Avenue serves 100 students in the Bronx, from nursery through eighth grade.

The new school is expected to be up and running sometime next year. A location has not yet been selected.
