Residents vocal against new Citi Bikes on their street

They say they weren’t even notified about the change, and that it’s making a bad parking problem worse – especially in the middle of the Yankees season.

Bronx residents are up in arms about new Citi Bikes that have been installed on what they say is already a congested street.

Those who live by Walton Avenue and East 151st St. are far from happy after they are vocalizing their disagreement with the addition of a new Citi Bike space that is taking up six parking spaces.

They say they weren’t even notified about the change, and that it’s making a bad parking problem worse – especially in the middle of the Yankees season.

Neighbors say they were woken up by a tow truck company early Tuesday morning as workers were there to tow cars at the intersection for the Citi Bike installation.

“We take pride in our community and clean up everyday to maintain it, now the Citi Bikes have been here less than 24 hours and so much trash has piled up here,” said resident Gisel Hernandez. “It’s not fair and we shouldn’t have to clean this up… this trash wouldn’t be here if the bikes weren’t.”
