SAGE, the world’s largest advocacy organization for LGBTQ+ elders, unveiled a brand-new older adult center in the Bronx.

The new center located in Crotona Park features a brand-new mural painted by artist Kay-Love to greet newcomers to the center. This center originally was set to open fully in 2021 but was delayed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members, elected officials and staff gathered at the SAGE Center Bronx to formally introduce the space to the community.

Organizers say the center will provide seniors a safe and accepting space that will help them build social and technical skills while enjoying a wide range of activities speaking to cultural diversity.
