The MTA commended bus driver Ian Hanley for leading at least 15-20 passengers to safety after the building collapsed in front of his bus. They presented Hanley a Certificate of Commendation.

“You can’t train bus operators for something like this and in New York City anything can happen, but assisting customers came naturally to Ian,” said NYC Transit Senior Vice President of Buses Frank Annicaro.

No one was injured during the incident.
