FDNY: 1 infant, 1 woman and 1 firefighter injured in Tremont fire

A fire at a six-story apartment building left an infant, a woman and a firefighter injured, according to the FDNY.
Fire officials say the call for the fire came in just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The fire started in an apartment on the third floor and extended into the hallway, going up to the fourth floor.
The FDNY says that residents were evacuating the building through fire escapes and on the roof. Firefighters assisted these residents while putting out the fire.
All three injured people only suffered minor injuries, according to first responders.
FDNY Deputy Chief James Sangiamo tells News 12 that the weather conditions had no effect on the fire. Sangiamo says that the rear wing of the building from the third floor up was the most affected part of the building, with the hallways suffering the most damage.
The Red Cross's Disaster Action Team and Mass Care responders are on scene helping register affected residents for emergency assistance.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
