An Allerton mother was indicted for second-degree manslaughter in the death of her newborn daughter.
Police say in September of 2023, 31-year-old Lasasha Gouldbourne gave birth in her Bronx Park East apartment.
Prosecutors say she arrived to her mother's home allegedly handing her a bag of clothes and leaving immediately after. Inside the bag was the newborn who had died of suffocation, according to officials.
Police also say Gouldbourne was actually pregnant with twins and gave birth to a baby boy at the hospital.
