The DSNY says it performed the sweep Monday night at the intersection of Creston Avenue and East Kingsbridge Road, which it describes as a hot spot for their enforcement.

“This is all we wanted for them to clean the strip and not have anyone here where the kids don’t have to see it,” said Amiga Fashion store manager Narelin Rivera. “We are very happy with what was done.”

News 12 spoke with one man who was living in a nearby encampment about his story. Thankfully, that man was able to find a room with the help of BronxWorks. The streets are clean for now – and businesses hope it stays that way.

“We are checking every day to make sure there is no mess, we will see how it goes in the future because there was a lot of garbage,” said Jose Mechac, store clerk at New Way Deli & Lottery.
