A new bill will require every New York City parks bathroom to have a sanitary diaper changing station installed in both men’s and women’s bathrooms.

“These new public changing tables will bring some peace of mind. Not just to all your moms but also to all the dads the grandparents and caregivers who have ever faced the anxiety of having to change your baby outside of the house,” said NYC councilmember Rafael Salamanca Jr.

So far, the Parks Department has installed 600 new baby changing stations in public park restrooms this year.

The latest of which have been installed at Hunts Point Playground on Thursday, bringing the vital amenity to over 1,200 bathrooms in total.
