The Kingsbridge community is coming together to beautify the Aqueduct Walkway.

The cleanup took place Friday afternoon from Kingsbridge Road to 192nd Street.

Participants say the goal is to welcome outsiders as well as support local businesses.

"We take care of our neighborhood, we take care of our parks," says community member Juan Nunez.

Event organizers say they're also launching a campaign to rename the walkway to "Miss Gloria Thomas Avenue" in honor of a community member's service.
