Police say thieves were caught on camera stealing three tires and rims of a Throgs Neck resident's car.

Anahi Hidalgo, says she woke up Tuesday morning to find her mom's car being held up by milk crates.

News 12 got a hold of exclusive footage from Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. where a car is seen reversing on Hollywood Avenue. The car pulled up next to Hidalgo's mother's vehicle, stealing three tires and rims. The whole crime is caught on camera.

The NYPD says you can prevent this from happening by doing the following:

• Activate vehicle alarms

• Install High quality locking lug nuts

• Turn your wHeels when parking

• Close your windows and lock your doors.

• Park in well-lit areas
