Billboard released their list of the 51 greatest rappers of all-time for the genre's 51st Anniversary, and some artists from the Bronx made the list.

Coming in at #42 is Melle Mel who, as part of the rap group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, brought hip-hop mainstream with their iconic song "The Message" in 1982.

At #26 is South Bronx native Big Pun, burst on the scene with his smash hit "Still Not a Player" from his debut album Capital Punishment.

KRS-One cane in at #24 after pausing his positive conscious rap to drop one of the first diss tracks in history with "The Bridge."

Basketball might've been his favorite sport, but Kurtis Blow became a legend in hip-hop and made Billboard's list at #23.
