Mott Haven Charter Schools raise safety concerns for busy streets ahead of new school year

Mott Haven Charter Schools are raising safety concerns for its students along busy Bruckner Boulevard ahead of the new school year.

DREAM Charter School and the South Bronx Charter International Cultures and Arts are both worried about pedestrian safety, with busy streets and high traffic along Bruckner Boulevard. They are pushing for improvements working alongside the Department of Transportation.


The DOT has already made changes to improve safety, but sources from both schools say more work needs to be done.

News 12 reached out to the DOT, which says this is an ongoing effort to improve safety for school children it is working on a redesign to take protective measures to make the street safer for everyone.
