News 12's cameras captured 29-year-old Ishmael Francis being walked out of the Bronx Special Victims Unit Tuesday night.

Francis is the suspect who assaulted a 13-year-old boy at the Sotomayor Houses on Sept. 18, just before midnight, according to police.

Officials say he is being charged with two counts of rape, robbery, sexual abuse of a person under 14, and sexual abuse in the third degree.

Police say the 13-year-old boy was taking out the trash when Francis pulled him into a stairwell of the building.

The resident of the building, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she is relieved Francis was caught.

"I'm happy that justice is served, absolutely. Hopefully, we can feel better at night and sleep better... but [the victim] should feel safe in his building. That should've never happened," she said.

Francis was expected to be arraigned Tuesday night.
