The NYPD says a 29-year-old man was fatally shot in the head in Belmont on Sunday.

Police say the shooting happened around 1:50 p.m. on East 182nd Street and Mapes Avenue.

The suspect is described as a man who was wearing a yellow jacket and fled on foot on Prospect Avenue, according to authorities.
