Police say a 25-year-old man was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning after being stabbed multiple times.

Officials say they responded to a 911 call at 760 Bryant Ave. around 6 a.m. to find the man with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

He was transported to Lincoln hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials have identified the man as Christian Alicea.

The crime scene was steps away from a school doubling as a poll site for election night.

A long-time Hunts Point resident says he's surprised to hear the news, and says the neighborhood isn't as dangerous as it used to be.

"It used to be a lot crazier. You know, a lot of prostitution, drugs, you know, racing and a lot of crazy stuff. It's been cleaned up and everything. So, something really crazy must've happen or people from out of the neighborhoods starting stuff," said Edward Encarnacion, a local resident.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
