The Parkchester train station is undergoing major upgrades, including new elevators, wider staircases and escalators to improve accessibility.

Some residents see the changes as beneficial, despite the construction inconveniences.

Jesus Luna, a Parkchester resident, says he feels the upgrades are essential, especially the addition of elevators for better accessibility.

However, the construction has created challenges.

Some locals tell News 12 that construction workers are taking up parking spaces in an area that’s commonly known to be hard to park in.

Others say there’s only one current entrance and exit to the station, making rush hour extremely crowded for commuters.

The MTA says the project will be completed by mid to late 2025, bringing renewed hope for a more commuter-friendly station.
